A Dream Come True
Valentine's Day is a day where most people go all out to show their love. As much as I say its an overrated day the feeling of love that it brings always gives me a bit of butterflies. I've recently become very serious with my girlfriend and wanted it to be one that she'd never forget. Recently our work schedules have been ridiculous and we needed a break to slow things down and enjoy time together. I started feeling a little spontaneous so I hopped onto HotelTonight, did a little scouting and decided on Hawaii. I found Hotel Wailea an adult only Boutique Hotel also voted to be the #1 Hotel In Maui & recently Top 25 Best Hotels In the Us. Now I love canoodling and peace so an Adult Only resort sounded perfect. This would be the perfect place to show her how serious I was about committing to "US".
The "QUESTION"
We took a straight flight from New York to Hawaii which took 11 hours. This is definitely something I would not recommend. After landing were worn out for the night so we decided to just rest and start fresh in the AM. Our luxury one bedroom suite was extremely spacious and welcoming decked out with fruit arrangements to help us reenergize after a long day of flying. Due to the time difference I was up at the crack of dawn the next morning. I decided to nag babe so she could join me in watching the sunrise on our private oceanfront lanai with a shot of espresso. Seeing I had a big surprise for dinner I opted for a relaxing day at the pool and to enjoy the property which had lots of nooks and crannies for some R&R. We know the ladies generally need a surplus amount of time to get ready for Dinner and i wanted her to look perfect for this moment. While she prepared for what she thought was a nice dinner, I prepared to pop the big question. With my nerves jumping it was time to get this show on the road. End of it all "She Said Yes". So the celebration began!!
Sharing My World With Her
She said "Yes". Yes to our Journey and yes to our love. I can't elaborate how honored I am to be able to share world's with her. We woke up early and decided to celebrate with a beautiful sunrise breakfast on our lanai. The service was amazing and arrived to our room prompt and on time. They set it up out on the lanai which was perfect and we were able to dine outside and enjoy our own oceanfront view with no interruptions besides the birds chirping.
One of the many perks with Hotel Tonight is your own personal Concierge who is literally a text away. I decided to plan a little excursion. There's this little gem I love in Maui called Twin Falls and I had to share it with her. Its a little hike but a very cute hike with no more than a 30 minute hike. With beautiful flowing waters for a relaxing dip the waters were even more flowing because of the rain the islands had. these pictures do no justice to the beauty of the island. Having time to kill Hotel Wailea gifted us with some little treats of covered Chocolate Strawberries which we enjoyed an paired with a nice glass of bubbly, then headed to the pool to catch some morning rays. Another day down and we were filled with much more joy and excitement for what was ahead for our last days.
Love On Top
There was the battle of renting the car before we decided upon Hawaii but also realized that our hotel provides Complimentary Limousine Service anywhere within Wailea. Knowing how strenuous it is sometimes to drive and worry about parking we decided on the complimentary car service. I wanted to be able to enjoy it all with no worries for neither her nor I, which included no responsibilities besides having a good time. Uber is also available there so we used it to go to our helicopter tour which was unfortunately out of the Wailea vicinity. We checked into Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and decided on the West Maui & Molokai tour which is only 50 minutes. Being on my bucket list of things I've always wanted to do I swallowed my fear of heights along with some Dramamine and we hit the skies. The views were spectacular and like nothing I'd ever see in this lifetime. This was one of the perfect ways to view Maui and I don't think driving the Road To Hana was anything compared to this. After a long day the skies turned cloudy and the rainy weather slowly started to creep in the forecast. We decided on taking lots of rain naps back in our suite for the rest of the trip to prepare for our long haul back to NYC.
Overall this was one of my most relaxing and accommodating trips yet. If you are a couple in need of some R&R or that one special trip then this is the perfect place. From the food to the bed to the beautiful scenary this was worth every penny.
